Creating a forest in Keihin Forest to the Future
Last update date April 1, 2024
What is the creation of the Keihin Forest to be passed on to the future?
- Considering the green spaces of companies in the Keihin district and facilities that are open to the public are regarded as important local assets, and along with public greenery and watersides, companies, citizens, etc. and the government work together to expand and utilize greenery. We promote and advocate the creation of a Keihin forest to be passed on to the future.
- Waterfront area of Tsurumi Ward and Kanagawa Ward (approximately 1,600ha)
- Many factories are located at the core of the Keihin Industrial Zone, which has supported the prosperity of the Japanese economy.
- In the Keihin area, creating a green environment has become an issue as an industrial base with a rich environment. Many companies located in the district, citizens, and the government share their wisdom together and consider working on this issue as "collaboration." Let's create a rich green environment in the Keihin district in cooperation with companies and cooperate with citizens and NPOs.
- Yokohama City positions the expansion and utilization of greenery through collaboration in line with the guidelines for the creation of a forest in the Keihin Forest as "Yokohama Green Up Plan and Greenery", calling on companies and citizens widely, and collaborating on greening activities. I will proceed.
- The Keihin area is a coastal landfill, so it seems that there is a gap from the rich natural environment. However, rivers such as the Tsurumi River are connected to the large greenery of the suburbs, and the water environment such as estuaries and canals. It is also expected that the natural environment will be regenerated. Plants in the district have more than 98 ha of green space, equivalent to more than 13 plants in Yamashita Park.
- Some companies that are active in environmental management are working to create biotopes and open green spaces. In addition to promoting the utilization of these green spaces and environmental activities, it is necessary to have a network that connects with other greenery and waterfronts. Various actors work together to nurture the connection between people, greenery and the waterside leads to "eco-up" that enhances the local environmental power.
- In order to promote the creation of a rich environment suitable for industrial districts, the following two districts have formulated a green town development throughout the area as a regional greening plan through the collaboration of citizens and citizens, and implemented each greening along with this.
- As for the details, please see site of the following local green town development business.
