In this booklet, we will introduce barrier-free towns that we will promote in the "Yokohama Barrier-Free Basic Design".
　

　In areas centered on passenger facilities such as railway stations, facilities used by the elderly and disabled gather, and in areas where transportation between facilities is usually performed on foot (priority maintenance areas), public transportation, This is a concept created to promote barrier-free facilities such as buildings, roads, off-street parking lots, city parks, traffic lights, etc.
　In "barrier-free basic design", we determine range of important maintenance district, contents of business (specific business) to be carried out for barrier-free are determined. The aim is not only to make individual facilities barrier-free, but also to make "area and integrated barrier-free" that ensures the continuity of buildings and roads.
　Yokohama City is promoting barrier-free urban development based on this basic concept.

Specified off-street parking lot is a parking lot that has a parking space of 500 square meters or more and a parking fee is collected.

It takes approximately three years to formulate the barrier-free basic concept. Based on the examination of the first to third subcommittees, we will determine the barrier-free basic concept. After the development of the basic design, the facility installation managers will carry out specific projects positioned in the basic design.

・2nd ward assembly
　About problem that came out in town walk inspection and opinion offer, we examine countermeasures.
・Coordination with facility installation managers
　Coordination measures will be made by Yokohama City and facility installation managers.

・The 3rd Ward Meeting
　We will consider the timing of implementation of the countermeasures and propose a draft basic plan.
・Determination of basic plan
・Consultation with facility installation managers, etc. based on the law
　We hold discussion based on law between Yokohama-shi and facility setting managers.

　Based on the "Barrier-Free Basic Design", typical examples of specific businesses implemented by each facility installation managers are as follows.

・Ticket vending machine renovation
The renovation of the ticket vending machine has made it easier to use.

We have prepared communication tools for various people, such as hearing impaired, foreigners, and the elderly.

・Improvement of pavement material
Changed to a material that is easy for any person to move.
・Improvement of drain lids
If the lid is too large, the wheel of the wheelchair will fit, so the hole in the lid is reduced to make it easier to move.

・Installation of acoustic signals

・Installation of blocks for guiding visually impaired persons at the entrance
