Road Contact Month

Every year from August 1 to 31 is "Road Contact Month".
During this month, the aim is to encourage people who use the road to interact with the road again, reaffirm the role of the road, and to increase the willingness to use the road beautifully and safely at all times.
In addition, in commemoration of the implementation of the "First Road Improvement Plan", the first long-term plan for modern road maintenance in Japan, on August 10, 1920, from August 1986 to August 10 Has been established as "Road Day".
Roads are the most basic public facilities that are indispensable to everyday life, but their importance is often overlooked because they are too close to them.
Therefore, at the “Road Contact Month” in August, we will reaffirm the importance of roads and try to use roads correctly.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism specifically promotes road protection activities and awareness-raising activities for the proper use of roads, with August 10 as “Road Contact Month” every year and August 10 as “Road Day”.

As part of this, we are recruiting the “Road Contact Month” promotion slogan from the general public in 2025 for the purpose of having you recognize the role and importance of roads again.
