Road safety facilities
Last Updated January 26, 2023
Protective fence
This facility aims to prevent vehicles with incorrect travel directions during driving from deviating off-street, oncoming lanes or sidewalks, and to prevent human damage to third parties caused by deviating vehicles. .
It also has the purpose of suppressing pedestrians from falling or unnecessarily crossings.
Road markings
This facility is organically or complementarily provided along with road signs and traffic signals.
For road traffic, necessary guidance, guidance, vigilance, regulation, instructions, etc. are installed on the road surface with certain stylized lines, letters, and symbols to ensure traffic safety and smoothness andconservation.
Road reflectors (curve mirrors)
Curve mirrors are installed in places where there is a high risk of traffic accidents, such as curves and intersections with poor visibility where houses and walls are in the way and you cannot see cars approaching directly.
Curve mirrors are traffic safety facilities that compensate for the driver's lack of visibility and support safety confirmation.
(1)There are blind spots in the curved mirror that are not reflected.
The range reflected on the curve mirror may be difficult to see or invisible depending on the position of the viewpoint of the viewer.
(2)It is difficult to grasp the sense of speed and distance.
The car reflected in the curved mirror looks small and feels far away.
Also, because it is difficult to grasp the sense of speed, cars that can be seen far away may approach quickly.
(3)The left and right are reflected in the opposite direction.
Bicycles reflected on the curve mirror are actually approaching the lane on the front side, but may be mistaken when approaching the lane on the other side.
Please use it well after understanding the characteristics of the curve mirror.
In addition, do not rely solely on curve mirrors, and perform safety checks by pausing, slowing down, and visual inspection according to traffic rules.
