Hamako Reading Plan "Let's Expand and Rich World Learn from Books"-To nurture the ability of children to live-

In the development of Yokohama City Children's Reading Activity Promotion Plan

Encountering a book can change the person's life.

Reading not only gives you new knowledge and information, but also stimulates the imagination of the unknown world and things, evokes fresh excitement.

In addition, reading develops thinking and expressiveness through words, and cultivates the basics of rich sensibility, creativity, and communication skills.

Reading is one of the important means that human beings can develop the power to live more and more vibrant.

In the context of children's "reading separation" and "type separation", the Board of Education hopes that creating more opportunities to meet books will be a source of children's rich hearts and ability to live. We devised "Yokohama-shi child book-reading activity promotion plan".

This plan shows the creation of an environment where children in Yokohama can take every opportunity and place and acquire the habit of becoming familiar with reading independently, and the contents of the support necessary for that purpose. It clarifies concrete measures for effective implementation.

In particular, we focus on "revitalization of school libraries" and "cooperation with related organizations such as City Library" and provide descriptions in line with developmental stages since infancy.

This plan is meaningful not only for those involved in children's reading activities and those who are called reading volunteers, but also for all citizens who wish for healthy growth of their children in schools, homes, and communities. I hope that it will be.
