Library Volunteer Asahi Library Volunteers are active in various fields such as ikebana, search machine training, bookshelf arrangement, book repair, story-telling, green, history walk, picture-story show.
Introduction of activities of each volunteer

| Picture-story show | The picture-story show volunteer "Toshokun" will perform an old-fashioned "street picture-story show" style, centering on handmade picture-story shows based on folk tales of Asahi Ward. |

| Searching machine training | PC volunteers "PC Dream" hold a "book search machine usage consultation" to support the basics of PC operation and how to use the book search machine. → Consultation on how to use the book search machine |
| Bookshelf arrangement | Bookshelf organizing volunteers organize books on bookshelves whose arrangement is disturbed so that books are easy to read and find. In addition, a handmade shelf stopper will be installed to maintain the condition of the bookshelf where books are not disturbed. |

| Town walk guide | The members of the "Asahi Guide Volunteer Association" serve as guides and hold a "History Walk" to visit historical sites and attractions in the city. |
Storytelling (Children's Storytelling Party) |
This is a meeting for children aged 3 and over, and we read picture books and picture-story shows. Librarians advise on how to select and play picture books, and improve the skills of the narrators. → Children's Story Meeting |
Reading aloud (a storytelling party for parents and children) |
This is a meeting for children from 0 to 3 years old and their parents, and they play children's songs, hand play, and picture books. In addition to the Asahi Library, we also hold talks at Shirane Community Care Plaza. → Story-telling party for parents and children |
Asahi-kun's Garden
Asahi Library greening the rooftop in March 2012 with the aim of "creating an environmentally friendly library". The small garden on the roof was named "Asahi-kun's Garden" after Asahi Ward's mascot character. This garden is managed by Asahi Library Green Volunteers. The state of the garden can be viewed from the window of the reference book corner on the second floor of the library.
A rest space has been newly established near the entrance of the Asahi Library.
Everyone is relaxing under the parasol.
Please use it.
Ikebana Photo Studio
In front of the Asahi Library counter, there are works by teachers of flower arrangement teachers who are members of the "Asahi Cha Flower Association" who are Ikebana volunteers. Please enjoy the beautiful seasonal flower arrangement.
