[Drawing Tokaido [Kanagawa / Hodogaya / Tozuka]]
In 1601 (Keicho era 6), Ieyasu Tokugawa set up an inn on the Tokaido for the delivery of official cards and luggage, and set up a horse-riding system. The horse station on each highway, Sugo, was abolished in 1872 (Meiji 5) and passed down to private land transportation companies.
In addition to ukiyo-e typified by Hiroshige's "53rd Tokaido", the Tokaido is a humorous book such as Jukasha's "Tokaido Naka-Kurige" and Robun Kanagaki's "Junior Fuji Pilgrimage" at the end of the Tokugawa period, as well as famous places. Many are drawn in geography such as events and travelogues.
As a material related to Yokohama, we will introduce the part of "Kanagawa" from "Enoshima Maude Hama no Sazunami", a tourist guide for the common people written in the late Edo period, by Heitei Gin Chicken.
It's just a short distance from Kanagawa Kanakawa.
In this inn, there are Hahanezawa, Tabigame, Oguroya, etc., and there is also a place where there is no house that can eat sake and appetizers, especially the boatmen and the merchants of Tabisha, Jiya of Shigemasa, Yado Hazure, Kanagawa's stand and Ifu, the scenery view, etc. in the teahouse.
