Services for reading groups

The Yokohama City Library lends books to groups and groups that promote reading in the community.
Make use of City Library for activities of groups and groups.

Application for use
(Registration/Change/Update/Cancellation)

  • How to apply, application: The representative must complete the procedure at the group lending implementation library you wish to use.
  • Required for registration: Application forms for group lending, documents for confirmation of Address, etc.
    • Address Confirmation Document:
    1. The name and address of the representative can be confirmed (driver's license, health insurance card, etc.).
    2. When registering at a nursery school, kindergarten, local child care support base, nursing home, etc., please bring documents that can confirm the location of the facility and an employee ID card that shows that the representative belongs to the facility.
    3. If a person other than the representative performs the procedure on behalf of the representative, please bring the following two points in addition to the confirmation documents of the representative.
    • Organization rules, etc.: Documents that can be used to confirm that the organization is intended to promote reading activities by utilizing books in groups and communities, such as group rules, leaflets and pamphlets.
  • The registration renewal procedure is required every year from April to May.
  • If there is any change in the registration details, such as a change of representative or person in charge, please fill out the application formrequired items and submit it to the registered library or apply electronically.
Usage guide
  • You can borrow up to 500 books per group for one year.
  • Lending, exchange, and return will be accepted at the registered library. When visiting the library by lending or returning books, please inform the registered library in advance of the name of the organization and the date and time of the visit.
  • Please submit a group lending activity report once a year about how you use library books.

Registration for use

  • Required for registration: Group Lending Registration Application Form, Member List, Address Confirmation Documents, etc.
    • Address Confirmation Document:
  1. Those who register as volunteer groups, etc.: The name and address of the representative can be confirmed (driver's license, health insurance card, etc.). If the representative lives outside the city and your workplace / school is in Yokohama city, please bring a copy of your workplace / school name.
  2. Those who register at nursery schools, kindergartens, Schoolchildren's Day Care, child care support bases, group homes, etc.: Documents confirming the location of the facility, such as an employee ID card indicating that the representative belongs to the facility.
  3. If a person other than the representative performs the procedure on behalf of the representative, please bring the following two points in addition to the confirmation documents of the representative.
  • The registration renewal procedure is required every year from April to May.
  • If there is any change in the registration details, such as the change of representative, please fill in the required items on the Group Lending Registration Items Change Notification and submit it to the registered library.
Usage guide
  • You can borrow up to 30 books per group for 30 days. (Lending cannot be extended.)
  • Book lending, reservation, and return will be accepted at the registered library.
  • Group lending may be refused in some cases, such as books with many reservations. Please check with the library to see if the book has been booked. (The library will not contact you.)
  • Please submit a group lending activity report once a year about how you use library books.

Please be careful.

  • Group lending and group lending cannot be registered at multiple museums in City Library.
  • Please carry books in groups and groups.
  • The borrowed books cannot be used for any purpose other than the activities of the group or group.
  • If you lose or pollute the borrowed book, you will be required to compensate for the same book in principle.
