21st : International Day of Elimination of Racial Discrimination

In 1992, the International Association of Guide Dog Schools (currently the International Association of Guide Dogs, Headquarters U.K.) designated the last Wednesday of April as "International Guide Dog Day". The Federation has 84 guide dog breeding organizations in about 30 countries, and holds events to deepen understanding of guide dogs on this day and on holidays before and after that.

1st : Human Rights Commissioner's Day
22nd : Day of honorary restoration and memorial service of victims under the Leprosy Prevention Act
It was established in connection with the "Law Concerning the Payment of Compensation for Hansen's Disease Sanatorium Residents" enforced on this day in 2001 (Heisei 13). The memorial service of the victims, memorial service and memorial service are held in various places. There are still 15 Hansen's disease sanatoriums nationwide, and about 2,733 people (as of May 1, 2008) live.

1st : Ainu Cultural Promotion Act Enforcement, Rehabilitation Protection Day

16th : Promulgation / enforcement of special law for persons with gender identity disorder
It was promulgated on this day in 2003, and came into effect on the same day in 2004 (2004). People with gender identity disorder can now change their gender in family register after hearing from family courts.
14th : Resolution on the World Plan for Human Rights Education
It was formulated on this day in 2005 as a follow-up on the United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004). The main focus is the adoption of a revised plan of action that focuses on primary and secondary school education.

The aim is to increase the momentum of employment of persons with disabilities and to support the professional independence of persons with disabilities, not just employers.
8th : International Literacy Day
The aim was to strengthen activities to increase the literacy rate, stating that being able to read and write by everyone is essential for eradicating poverty and realizing a human-like life. The United Nations Decade of Literacy from 2003 to 2012 is the "10 Years of Literacy".
10th : World Suicide Prevention Day
10 to 16 days : Suicide Prevention Week
19th : Respect for the Aged Day
21st : International Day of Peace
An anniversary of peace established by the United Nations. This day is a non-violence day, and we encourage all countries and people to stop hostilities every day.
