About the new Blue Line Vehicle "Type 4000"

City of Yokohama, Transportation Bureau introduced the new Type 4000 to the Municipal Subway Blue Line.
Based on the concept of "advanced urban feeling at the seaside", the design is designed to give a dignified appearance and a sense of speed. In terms of functions, in addition to improving barrier-free and comfort, we also improved safety by introducing security camera. Operations started on May 2, 2022.

The image of Yokohama and the uniqueness of Yokohama are extracted from various surveys of the city, and the concept of "advanced urban feeling on the seaside" is positioned as a concept, and the design is designed to give a dignified appearance and a sense of speed.
The leading vehicle has a structure that emphasizes the edges of the plane and straight lines as a whole, while retaining the image of the conventional blue line. The surface facing various directions changes the expression of the head shape with the viewing angle, and the design is designed to make you feel dynamism.

Improvement of barrier-free
Wheelchair and stroller space
In addition to the existing barrier-free functions (door opening and closing notice lights, wheelchair fixtures, etc.), two-stage handrails and floor display have been newly installed in the wheelchair / stroller space.
Improvement of comfort
Sleeve partition
・The seat width has been increased from 470 mm to 480 mm while retaining the bucket seat, which is easy to understand the seating position, and the seat surface has been revised to improve the seating comfort.
・The sleeve partitions at the end of the sheet has been enlarged so that both sitting and standing customers can spend a comfortable time.
Improvement of safety
・We installed three security camera vehicles per car to improve security.
・The penetration door between vehicles is made of glass, and a pattern inspired by Yokohama as a collision prevention measure.
・In order to use it with peace of mind, we carry out antibacterial bacteria in the car.

A total of 8 trains will be introduced for the new model 4000 by 2023. The first organization has been operating since May 2, 2022.
