Regarding the new Blue Line 4000 model

In City of Yokohama, Transportation Bureau, we introduced a new type 4000 model on the municipal subway blue line.
Based on the concept of "advanced urban feeling of the seaside", the design is designed to give a dignified appearance and a sense of speed. In terms of functionality, in addition to improving barrier-free and comfort, safety has been improved, including the introduction of the security camera. The service started on May 2, 2022.

From various surveys in Motoichi, "Image of Yokohama" and "Yokohama-likeness" are extracted, and the concept is "advanced urban feeling on the seaside", and the design is designed to give you a dignified appearance and a sense of speed.
The first vehicle has a structure that emphasizes the edges of the plane and straight lines as a whole while retaining the remnants of the conventional blue line. The surface facing various directions changes the expression of the head shape along with the viewing angle, making it a design that gives a sense of dynamism.

Improvement of barrier-free
Wheelchairs and stroller spaces
In addition to the existing barrier-free functions (door opening and closing notice lights, wheelchair fixtures, etc.), two-stage handrails and floor display are newly provided in wheelchair / stroller space.
Improvement of comfort
Sleeve divider
・The seat width has been expanded from the conventional 470mm to 480mm while maintaining the bucket seat where the seating position is easy to understand, and the seating material has been revised to improve the comfort of sitting.

・In order to improve security, we installed three security camera cars per car.
