Bus business introduction of welfare measures vehicles

Last Updated January 14, 2022

Bus (barrier-free) easy to use.

Since 1996, municipal buses have introduced bus vehicles equipped with slope boards on the middle doors so that wheelchair customers can use it. The basic policy on promoting smooth movement, etc. based on the Barrier-Free Law requires a non-step bus introduction rate of 70% or more by FY2020. As of the end of FY2018, the non-step bus introduction rate of 96.4%, and barrier-free suitability including one-step buses, was 100%. (General sharing)

Non-step bus

The floor is low (floor height about 30 cm) so that all passengers can get on and off, and there is no step at the entrance. Furthermore, when stopping, the height of the vehicle can be reduced by about 5 cm by the vehicle height adjustment device. In addition, a slope plate for getting on and off the wheelchair is installed on the middle door.
