About accident in municipal subway blue line

In the derailment accident that occurred on the municipal subway blue line on June 6, 2019, a total of 245,000 customers were greatly affected from the day of the accident to June 11, when operating on normal schedules was resumed. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Based on the lessons learned from this accident, Transportation Bureau is working on measures to prevent recurrence based on its strong determination to prevent serious accidents.
Once again, all staff members are deeply aware of their responsibilities that they are taking care of their lives, and will work on safe operation so that customers and citizens can use it with peace of mind.

June 6 About derailment accident of Municipal Subway Blue Line

Overview of Accidents
Date and time of occurrence 5:22 on Thursday, June 6, 2019
Location Between up Shimoiida and positions (17k891.3m) ※132.7m away from the designated stop position of Shimo-Iida Station
Boarding personnel 121 people
※Immediately after the accident: The driver provided an explanation of the situation to the customer and confirmed the presence or absence of injured.
※Evacuation guidance: With the support of two station staff, get off from the last emergency door and walk to Shimo-Iida Station on foot.
Overview of Accidents After leaving Shimo-Iida Station toward Tateba Station, an emergency brake was turned on and stopped due to a severe impact while driving. Of the 1st to 5th cars, 16 axes of 8 carts (24 axes per formation) derailed. The speed at the time of derailment is 55 km/h.

[Response to Security Audits]
The measures to prevent the recurrence of this accident are as described in the above report, but temporary security audits (conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to business operators based on Article 56, Paragraph 1 of the Railway Business Act) conducted in response to the accident. On December 20, 2019, we reported to the Kanto Transport Bureau of December 20, 2019 regarding matters that were to be taken to be improved.

Location Ooba Station drop-in line (Izumi-ku, Yokohama)
Boarding personnel None (for forwarding trains)
Overview of Accidents At 8:35, all customers got off at the landing site, which is the end of the train, and then moved to a track called the drop-in line between the main line and the down main line to turn back at Odoriba Station. Crossing the position, collided with the front wall, damaging the body.
