Basic Policy on Rebuilding of Yokohama Municipal Elementary and Junior High School Facilities (established in May 2017)

Last update date April 18, 2023

-We have formulated a basic policy on rebuilding of Yokohama municipal elementary and junior high school facilities-

Yokohama City formulated the "Longevity of Public Facilities-Basic Policy" in 2000, and measures to extend the life of public facilities by properly maintaining and managing them.
As a policy, school facilities will be used up to 70 years old.
For this reason, the city has not been rebuilding school facilities for more than 10 years, but in old school facilities, 70 years old has begun to appear as a reality in the near future.
As a result, it is time for us to start concrete rebuilding.
Based on these backgrounds, the Board of Education has formulated the “Basic Policy on Rebuilding of Yokohama Municipal Elementary and Junior High School Facilities” to ensure the efficiency of school facilities.
We will work to ensure the safety and security of elementary school student students and to improve the educational environment.
