About school lunch cooks
Working hours and place of work
At elementary schools and special needs schools in Yokohama City, kitchens are set up at each school, so school lunch cooks will work at each school. Working hours are from 8:00 to 16:45 (of which one hour breaks), and some staff work in conjunction with childcare and nursing care.
Work description
School lunches in Yokohama are implemented at 188 times a year as standard according to the annual plan of each school. In the morning of school lunch, after checking the ingredients delivered to the school, they cook using the facilities and equipment in the school lunch room. In the afternoon, we perform cleaning work on dishes and cans. During summer, winter, and spring vacations, there is no school lunch, so the school lunch room is cleaned up.
