In Yokohama-shi, youth instructor performs patrol in the whole city to watch local youth and promotes town development that young people can spend healthy.

Contents of Action

Youth instructors in the 18 wards will make plans according to each region and implement them.
By youth instructors patrol throughout the city, we contribute to the development of a town where young people can spend healthy.

1 What is a youth instructor?

Based on recommendations from Neighborhood Association, Neighborhood Associations, etc., we will encourage young people who will lead the next generation to grow richly in the community.
We receive commission from the mayor and prefectural governor and have you work.
In addition to holding events for children's exchange and hands-on activities, etc.
We are working to create an environment where young people can spend time with peace of mind, such as watching over activities.

3 Qualifications

There are no specific provisions, but those who have a passion for understanding young people and healthy development of young people.
In order to create a better local environment for young people
Those who can take the initiative in cooperating with local youth instructors and related organizations and organizations are included.

4 Commission and term of office

With Neighborhood Association and Neighborhood Associations as the recommendation body, Director General recommends to the mayor from among the nominated candidates.
The mayor commissions. My term of office is two years.

5 Selection method, etc.

1 Term: 2 years, but it does not prevent re-election. In addition, the term of office of the successor shall be the remaining term of the predecessor.
2 Age: In principle, those who are over 18 years old and under 70 years old. (In the case of reappointment, in principle, under 75 years old)

3 Selection method: The Alliance Neighborhood Associations and other Director General have asked local organizations deemed necessary to select candidates.

Establishment of 6-city councils and ward councils (each district councils)

For the purpose of effective promotion of instructor activities and communication and coordination among instructors
We set up councils in cities and wards (each district) and hold councils as appropriate to plan healthy upbringing of young people.

(1)　Regular meetings
As a general rule, the program is held on the first Wednesday of every month.　

(2)　Simultaneous unified action patrol activities throughout the city

Contents　：　In order to watch local youth, we will conduct a night patrol all over the city and promote town development to protect youth from harmful environments.

Location　：　Izumi public hall
Contents　：　In order to improve knowledge acquisition and qualifications as a youth instructor, we will introduce business and give keynote speeches.

(4)　All-city unified action campaign activities
Schedule　：　November, 2024　　※Conducted on another day depending on the district
Location　：　The entire city
Contents　：　In order to raise citizens' awareness of healthy youth development
　　　　In November, the “Children and Youth Development Support Emphasis Month”, youth instructors will conduct campaigns in each region.

Contents　：　We carry out the mayor commendation for youth instructors who have been working for more than 25 years, have been working for 20 years, have been working for 15 years, and have been working for 10 years.
