Post-Sick Child Care Business

1 What is the post-sick childcare business?

Nurses and nursery teachers take care of children who are recovering from illness in a nursery room attached to a nursery school.
This is a business in which the caregiver temporarily raises a child during periods when it is difficult to raise children at home due to socially unavoidable circumstances such as work reasons, accidents, childbirth, and ceremonial occasions.

About COVID-19 infection

From May 8, 2023, the new coronavirus infection has shifted to Class 5, but the childcare room for post-sick children, those who are positive for the new coronavirus infection will not be able to use it. When your GP fills out the “Sick Child Care Business Use Contact Form (No. 4 Style)”, your GP may perform an examination to make a definitive diagnosis.

Childcare hours

Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 pm
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
※However, holidays such as the year-end and New Year holidays of each nursery school that provides childcare for post-sick children are excluded.

2 How to use and pre-registration methods

Step 1 Pre-registration

You will need to register in advance for each facility you wish to use.
Please submit the registration form directly to each post-sick child care room.

※In addition, additional documents may be required, so please check with the post-sick child care room in advance.

Step 2 Examination

Please have a consultation by your GP and have them prepare a usage contact form. A usage notification form is required for use.

※It will be accepted only after the facility has been confirmed. You may not be able to take care of your child if you exceed the capacity or depending on your child's symptoms.
※I would like your GP to fill out the “Sick Child Care Business Use Contact Form (No. 4 Style)”. (It is not accepted at clinics holidays.)
In that case, a document creation fee is required, but it will be treated as a medical information provision fee (I), and insurance medical treatment will be provided only once a month per user. For the second and subsequent times a month, you will not be covered by insurance, so you will have to pay the entire amount. (It may vary depending on the medical institution you are going to consult.)
<About the 4th style creation fee for the first time per month>
Children who have been granted Medical Certificate under the Subsidies for Medical Expenses for Pediatric Treatment system, such as "baby/infant Medical Care" or "Single Parent" are not paid for.

Step 3 Reservation

The reservation method differs depending on the facility. Please apply directly to the implementation facility.
※Please refrain from making multiple reservations at multiple facilities.
If you no longer need to use the service after making a reservation, please contact us immediately for cancellation. Please be sure to contact us for reasons such as having children waiting for cancellation or preparation of an acceptance system.

Step 4 On the day

On the day of use, please submit use contact form (No. 4 style) and use application (fifth style) to the post-sick child nursery room.
※The use contact form (No. 4 style) is a document that your GP will write at the time of consultation.

About reduction of taxes system

In order to receive a reduction in usage fee, please show municipal tax exemption certificate or social security receipt certificate, tax exemption certificate such as welfare Medical Certificate such as single-parent homes at the time of use.
※Households subject to tax exemption are social security households living in Yokohama City, households exempt from municipal tax, and single-parent homes and other households holding welfare Medical Certificate.

4 Wide-area use of sick and post-sick child care business

Since April 2023, Yokohama City has concluded a mutual use agreement with Kawasaki City to enable mutual use of childcare facilities for sick and post-sick children. The usage fee and usage method are determined by the city where the facility is located.
