How to declare dividend income and transfer income, etc. of listed stocks
Last update date December 1, 2023
Regarding taxation methods different from dividend deductions, share transfer income percent, and income tax
“Dividend income of listed stocks withheld inhabitant tax” and “Transfer income of listed stocks withheld in a specific account”
System is changed from municipal tax, prefectural tax in 2024 by tax system revision.
1 Dividend deductions and deductions for share transfer income deductions
From fiscal 2024, it is necessary to submit a final income tax return when applying the dividend deduction or the deduction for share transfer income.
※Please note that it cannot be applied only by submitting a municipal tax / prefectural tax return alone, as before 2023.
When submitting a final income tax return, the deduction for dividends and the transfer income from stocks, etc. are included in the “Resident Tax column” in Table 2 of the final tax return.
Please note that there are items to be entered, so be careful not to omit any entries.
<Supplement> If there is a transfer income of listed stocks and there is no withholding of a specific account, there is no withholding of residence tax.
Regardless of the amount of money, it is necessary to submit a municipal tax and prefectural tax return form after 2024.
You can omit the submission of a municipal tax / prefectural tax return only if you submit a final tax return to that effect.
Points to note when submitting a tax return to the tax office
