About presentation of municipal tax, prefectural tax report

The 2024 municipal tax and prefectural tax return is scheduled to be sent on February 9.
Please cooperate with submission by mail as much as possible to alleviate congestion and prevent infectious diseases.

Please note that the following people are also required to submit a report.
・There was no income (no income)
・Only survivors' pensions, disability pension, employment insurance and social security
※If you have received your tax return this time, please contact us.

The window reception desk for the 2024 municipal tax and prefectural tax return is aimed at preventing infection by alleviating congestion.
We set a designated date for each area where you live, and we ask for the next agency on the designated date as much as possible.
※There is no designated date for mail.

About attached documents Declaration of medical expenses

Attachment of “medical expenses Deduction Statement” is required (not applicable without attachment)

A medical expenses deduction statement must be accompanied by a statement of medical expenses deduction.
Only medical expenses receipts and medical expenses notices issued by insurance unions cannot be declared.
→ If there is no medical expenses deduction statement, the medical expenses deduction is not applicable.

  ※You may omit some entries in the medical expenses notice issued by each insurance union, but it is necessary to prepare a medical expenses deduction statement.
  ※"Details of medical expenses deduction" is printed in guide of municipal tax, prefectural tax, so please use it separately.
  ※medical expenses receipts used when preparing the statement must be kept at home for 5 years.

Why do I need a medical expenses deduction statement?
A

 Due to the revision of the tax system in fiscal 2017, it is mandatory to attach a “medical expenses Deduction Statement” instead of a medical expenses receipt from the filing for 2017.
 However, as a transitional measure, the final income tax return (from 2017 to 2019) and municipal tax and prefectural tax return (from 2018 to 2020) mustmedical expensesmedical expenses deduction. 
 Transitional measures have not been applied since the 2020 filing, a statement of medical expenses deduction is required.
