World No Tobacco Day and Non-Smoking Week Initiatives
World No Tobacco Day (May 31)
This is the World Action Day for "Aiming for a Society without Tobacco in the 21st Century" set by WHO (World Health Organization) participating countries.
Non-smoking week (May 31-June 6)
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has designated one week from World No Tobacco Day as "No Smoking Week" and has decided to actively promote awareness of smoking cessation according to the theme.

Implementation of a joint campaign to prevent passive smoking in nine prefectures
Is your smoke hurt your loved one? ~
In order to correctly understand the adverse effects of passive smoking on health and to further promote appropriate measures to prevent passive smoking in public facilities, nine prefectures and cities have jointly implemented a wide-area passive smoking prevention campaign since 2010 Has been implemented.
In the campaign, from September to November, posters to prevent passive smoking common to nine prefectures and cities will be posted on public facilities and public transportation, and will be linked to health promotion awareness projects in each prefecture and city. We carry out dissemination enlightenment activities to prevent passive smoking.
