1 What is a catering facility?

Lunch facilities are facilities that continuously supply meals to a specific and large number of people.Based on the Health Promotion Law and the Yokohama City Ordinance, the city classifies as follows according to the number of meals supplied. I am.

Classification of catering facilities

●Specified catering facilities
Facilities that supply 100 or more meals at a time or more than 250 meals a day (Health Promotion Law)
●Small-scale catering facilities
Facilities that supply 50 or more meals at a time or 100 or more meals a day (Yokohama City Ordinance)
●Other catering facilities
Lunch facilities with less than 50 meals at a time and less than 100 meals a day

2 Obligation of notification

Installers of specific catering facilities and small-scale catering facilities must submit the registration form determined by the regulations of the Health Promotion Law and the Yokohama City Ordinance. For other catering facilities, there is no obligation to report, report, etc., but each ward Health and Welfare Division may grasp the situation such as changes in the number of meals. If you have any questions, please contact the Health and Welfare Division Health Promotion Section.
※ In addition, notification may be required due to the Food Sanitation Law or the law pertaining to the types of facilities, so please contact the relevant departments and related organizations.
※ The person obliged to report is the installer (facility side) (Please note that it is not a school lunch contractor).

Various reports

・“school lunch Start registration form (Form No. 1)”: When school lunch has been resumed or suspended from school lunch.
  The notification of commencement of school lunch includes (1) a copy of the license of all registered dietitians and dietitians, and (2) an organizational chart showing the position of the department in charge of school lunch
  You will need to submit it.
・“school lunch Change registration form (Form 2)”: When there is a change in the notification items
  A copy of your license must be submitted to the school lunch Change Notification only if you change your registered dietitian or dietitian.
・“school lunch Abolition (Suspension) registration form (Form No. 3)”: When school lunch is suspended (approximately three months or more) or abolished

3 Submission of Nutrition Management Report

In accordance with the Health Promotion Law, Yokohama City requires the submission of the Nutrition Management Report on the school lunch, which was conducted in June every year in order to understand the status of school lunch operations and nutrition management. In addition, the form of the report differs for each facility type. Report forms are sent to each facility from Health and Welfare Division Health Promotion Section every year. In addition, style can be downloaded from the following (1) to (4).

4 Nutrition Instructors’ Lunch Facilities

In accordance with the Health Promotion Law, nutrition instructors are appointed by The Mayor of Yokohama to conduct on-site surveys, guidance, and training sessions, etc. by staff members of Health and Welfare Division, who are qualified as doctors or registered dietitians.

Field surveys and guidance

Nutrition instructors will go to the facility to investigate whether appropriate nutrition management is ensured, and provide guidance as necessary.

Training sessions

In Yokohama City, we conduct training sessions for the purpose of providing the latest nutrition information and exchanging information for dietitians, dietitians, and managers of catering facilities. Information on training is sent to each facility from Health and Welfare Division Health Promotion Section.

This guide provides guidance for the installers, managers, dietitians, dietitians, and other stakeholders to understand the role of school lunch and smoothly implement school lunch management, including nutrition management.
