About dementia
Dementia refers to a condition in which the brain changes due to various causes, cannot be done before, and has interfered with life.
There are various types of dementia depending on the causative disease, such as "Alzheimer's dementia", which is caused by the effects of the brain on nerve cells.
For more information, please visit the following page.
What is dementia?
In Alzheimer's disease, a protein called amyloid β (beta) in the brain for a long period of time causes the brain to gradually lose the function of nerve cells, and the brain to atrophy and overall decline. In recent years, the development of therapeutic agents targeting amyloid β has been progressing, and in Japan, "lecanemab" and "donanemab" have been approved.
About "Lecanemab" (Rekenbi® infusion)

- Lecanemab is a drug that goes to the hospital once every two weeks and takes about an hour with infusion.
- Whether you can receive lecanemab treatment is based on the results of various tests (CDR (clinical dementia scale), MMSE (neuropsychological examination), amyloid PET examination or cerebrospinal fluid examination, etc.) at the medical institution that administers it. Judge. Depending on the results of the test, you may not be eligible for treatment if you wish.
