Special condolence money for the bereaved families of the 11th war dead, etc.

We will provide special condolence money (registered government bonds) to their bereaved families in order to express their willingness to condolence again as a country, in consideration of the precious sacrifices of the war dead, etc., which became the cornerstone of today's peace and prosperity.

Payment of special condolence money 

※The request period for special condolence money for the bereaved families of the 11th war dead ended on March 31, 2023.

Eligible recipients

On April 1, 2020 (base date), those who receive "Public Assistance Fees under the Benefits Act" or "Survivors' Pensions under the Support Act for Survivors of War Victims" (wife and parents of war dead, etc.) If there is no one, special condolence money (250,000 yen face value, registered government bonds redeemed for 5 years) will be paid to each of the bereaved in the highest priority in the following order.
※The special condolence money is received by one representative of the bereaved family. Coordination between the bereaved family members should be responsible for the recipient of the registered government bonds.

Priority of recipients
1 RankingThose who have obtained the right to receive condolence money under the Support Law for the Survivors of the Victims of the War and Victims by April 1, 2020
2 RankingsChildren of war dead, etc.
3 Rankings

1. Parents 2. Grandchildren 3. Grandparents 4. Brothers and sisters
※The order will be changed depending on whether or not the livelihood relationship at the time of death of the war dead, etc.

4 Rankings

Other relatives within the third degree of the war dead (nephew, niece, etc.)
※Limited to those who have had the same livelihood relationship with the war dead for at least one year until the death of the war dead.

From April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2023 (3 years)

Major documents required for request

 required documents differs depending on the claimant, but the following documents are required in common:

(3)The claimant's private seal
(4)Invoice

There are other necessary documents depending on the claimant.

About the period from claim to issuance of government bonds

 It takes about one year and four months from the receipt of invoices to the issuance of government bonds.
 Approximately 9 to 1 year from the receipt of invoices at each ward office to the examination and ruling by the prefecture, and after approval, about 3 to 4 months for procedures such as registration of government bonds in the country Because it takes.
 If special condolence money has never been requested in the past, the claimant has been changed from the previous recipient, or the prefecture where the examination ruling is made (such as permanent domicile Prefecture when the war dead is removed) and when the claimant's residence is different, it may take more time.
 As soon as they are ready, the ward office will send you the documents.
