11th special condolence money for bereaved families such as war dead

We will provide special condolence money (registered government bonds) to their bereaved families in order to reflect on the precious sacrifices of the war dead, etc., who became the cornerstone of Japan's peace and prosperity today.

About payment of special condolence money 

※The request period for special condolence money for bereaved families such as the 11th war dead has ended on March 31, 2023.

Eligible recipients

Those who receive "Public Assistance Fees under the Benefits Act" or "Survivor's Pension under the Support Law for the Survivors of the Victims of the War Victims" on April 1, 2020 (base date) If there is no, a special condolence money (250,000 yen face value, registered government bonds redeemed for 5 years) will be paid to each surviving family in the following order.
※Special condolence money is received by one person representing the bereaved family. Coordination between bereaved families should be made by the person who received the registered government bonds.

Priority of Eligibility
1st rankingThose who have obtained the right to receive condolence money under the Support Law for the Survivors of the Victims of the Victims of the War and Victims by April 1, 2020
2nd rankingChildren such as war dead
3 Rankings

1. Parents 2. Grandchildren 3. Grandparents 4. Brothers and sisters
※The order will be changed depending on the presence or absence of a livelihood relationship at the time of death of the war dead.

4th ranking

Relatives (nephews, nieces, etc.) within the third degree of war dead, etc.
※Limited to those who have had the same livelihood relationship with the war dead, etc. for at least one year until the death of the war dead.

From April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2023 (3 years)

Main documents required for billing

 The required documents differs depending on the claimant, but the following documents are in common.
(1)Requester's official identity verification document (original)

(4)Invoice

Depending on the claimant, there are other necessary documents.
Please refer to ward office life support section secretariat where claimant lives.

About the period from billing to government bond issuance

 It takes about one year and four months from receipt of the invoice to the issuance of government bonds.
 Approximately 9 months to 1 year from the receipt of the invoice at each ward office to the examination and ruling by the prefecture, after approval, about 3 to 4 months for procedures such as registration of government bonds in the country. Because it takes.
 Please note that special condolence money has never been requested in the past, if the claimant has been changed from the previous recipient, or the prefecture where the examination ruling is made (permanent domicile Prefecture when the war dead was removed) and the prefecture where the claimant resides are different, it may take longer.
