We will hold a frail prevention event by Yokohama City, AEON Retail Co., Ltd., Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Yokohama City Sports Association so that you can learn about frail and work on frail prevention.
Those who participate will receive luxurious novelty goods! (Limited quantity)

What is the difference?

What is a frail?

Frail refers to a condition in which the body and mind functions (work) such as physical strength, energy, and cognitive function in the elderly are reduced, and the risk of needing nursing care in the future is increasing.
In other words, frail is the "middle state" between "health" and "needing nursing care".
In addition, it is expected that the condition will be maintained and improved by noticing the frail early and preventing it.

In Yokohama City, we conducted a questionnaire survey of elderly people aged 65 and over in Yokohama City for three years from FY2019 to FY4 (*). As a result, comparing FY2019 and FY2022, the percentage of those who did not receive support / nursing care certification and did not need nursing care or assistance was determined to be frail. It turned out that it increased by 1.3 times.
※In Yokohama City, a “Health and Living Survey” was conducted for elderly people aged 65 and over who have not received certification for long-term care (excluding support required) living in the city regarding their lifestyle and health status. Since 2013, we have been conducting joint research with the Japan Gerontological Evaluation Research (JAGES) Organization.

[How to prevent frail]

Various factors influence each other before reaching the frail, such as small changes in the body, mind, cognitive function, etc., and changes in social life.
It is important to be aware of small changes and incorporate the four pillars of flail prevention from an early stage, "exercise, oral care, nutrition intake, and social participation," into daily life.
