2020 Schedule (planned and actual results)
Resuming domestic cruises
At Yokohama Port, "Asuka II (outside site)" (Yusen Cruise Co., Ltd.) and "Nippon Maru (outside site)" (MOL Ship Mitsui Passenger Co., Ltd.) resumed short cruises in Japan from November, and in December "Pashifuku Binas (outside site)" (Japan Cruise Liner Co., Ltd.) has also resumed domestic short cruises.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, each company has been making efforts to resume operations, such as preparing manuals to prevent and spread of COVID-19 infection for ocean-going cruise ship operators (September 18, 2020 (first edition)) formulated by the Japan Coastal Passenger Ship Association (outside site).
In order to verify these effectiveness, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (outside site), a fair third-party organization, has obtained certification through the "Guidelines for Biosafety Management System for COVID-19 on Cruise Ships" by the Association after "Manual Document and Onboard Examination", "Examination of Management System by Trial Operation", and "Examination of Response to Infected Persons through Training".
In addition, at Yokohama Port, together with related organizations, including the national and prefectural health departments, we confirmed in advance the status of measures onboard ships and measures against infectious diseases such as disembarking and transporting infected people.
Furthermore, for the time being, Yokohama Port will provide domestic cruise ships with a fleet of domestic cruise ships.
- PCR test for all passengers before boarding
- Deploying a virus inspection system onboard
- In the unlikely event that an infection occurs on board, accommodation facilities, transportation arrangements, etc.
We have established a thorough system, including confirmation of measures against infectious diseases.
At Yokohama Port, we will continue to focus on the safety and security of passengers as well as citizens and port officials.
