2025 Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Ceremony and Commemorative Concert
Event Overview
Yokohama City holds the opening ceremony every year as a place to pay tribute to the history of the port and the achievements of its predecessors, and wish for the future development of Yokohama. This year, we will celebrate the opening of the port with the citizens at a concert by Daisuke Yokoyama, a singer and actor who served as "the brother of the song" at NHK E-Tele "Mother with Mom." Please look forward to co-starring with the Yokohama Boys and Girls Choir, which is active mainly in the local Yokohama.
We will invite 1,000 people free of charge to this ceremony and concert by lottery. On the day, childcare, sign language and written interpreters are also available (advance application required). Please feel free to apply.
※The ceremony will be held after a resolution of the 2025 budget in Yokohama City Council.
※The contents of the program are subject to change.

What is the opening anniversary?
In commemoration of the opening of Yokohama on June 2, 1859 (July 1, 1859 AD), June 2 was designated as the opening anniversary of the opening of the port in 1928 based on Ansei's Five-Countries Convention. . Every year, the opening ceremony is held on the anniversary of the opening of the port, and various events such as the Zakohama Parade and the opening festival are held during the opening of the port before and after the opening of the port. In addition, elementary, junior high and high schools in Yokohama City will be closed.
