Kanazawa Ward Office Public Relations Character Botan-chan
Last Updated November 2, 2018
On October 18, 1993, "Botan" was selected as a flower of the ward and "Yamazakura" was selected as a tree of the ward in the postcard voting of Kanazawa residents.
Botan-chan was born from this Kanazawa Ward flower "Botan".
The place name "Diki", which is now located in the Kanazawa Ward Office and police department, is named after the mud turtle Nitta, which was formed by the sea. In addition, the mud turtle was named after the name of "Nagashima mud turtle" (Diki Nagashima) who made this Nitta. Nagashima Mudgame had a house on Nojima, planted a lot of peony in the garden, and was called "Mud Turtle Botan" and delighted the eyes of the townspeople. From that time on, the peony was a familiar flower for the townspeople.
