Cancer Screening

★Yokohama City Cancer Screening can be taken at conducting medical institutions.
★We live in the city and do not have any other consultation opportunities (such as cancer screening at the workplace), and those who fall under the following target people can receive a medical examination.
About type, rate of Yokohama-shi cancer screening
●If you are currently undergoing treatment, you may not be able to see a doctor, so please consult your GP in advance.
●Those who have reached the following target age as of April 1, 2025 can have a consultation.
●If you receive a consultation without an appropriate consultation interval (for example, if you consult twice during the year), you may be required to pay the entire amount.

- ※Note 1: Gastric cancer health check-up cannot have both x-rays and endoscopy in the same year.
※Note 2: Endoscopy may be performed during the health check-up to collect mucosa fragments for pathological examination for definitive diagnosis. This biopsy will be covered by insurance, so it will be charged separately. (Please be sure to bring your insurance card on the day of health check-up.)
Exemption from health check-up Fees
For those who fall under any of the following, if they bring each required documents at the time of cancer screening, the health check-up fee will be exempted.

- １．Persons 70 years old or older as of April 1, 2025 (those born before April 1, 1955) → Please present a health insurance card, etc. that can confirm your age.
２．Those who are covered by the Medical System for Elderly Seniors → Please show "identification of medical care insured person for elder senior citizens". - ３．social security households → Please present your "Request for Medical Treatment on Holidays and Nights".
- ４．Those who are subject to the Support Benefit Program for Residual Japanese in China → Please show your "identity verification card".
５．All household members are taxed only for municipal tax prefectural tax exemption or per capita rate in 2023 → Procedures are required at your ward office Health Promotion Section in advance. Please contact us for more information.
Consultation method
Please make a reservation directly with the participating medical institution. When making a reservation, please tell us that you want to have a cancer screening in Yokohama City.
Please ask the participating medical institution directly for the date and time of reception.
Municipal Hospital Cancer Screening Center (outside site) also carries out other cancer screenings, so please contact us directly.
Cancer Screening Promotion Business
For people of a specific age, we will send out coupons for free consultation fees. Please use it when you pay the health check-up fee. Specifically, please see this (City of Yokohama, Medical Care Bureau cancer, disease measures section homepage).
