Hazawa Station outskirts town development meeting

For the Kanagawa Eastern Line, Hazawa Station (tentative name) * will be developed near Yokohama-Hazawa Station on the JR Tokaido Freight Line (Hazawa-cho, Kanagawa-ku), improving the convenience of transportation and living in the surrounding area will be improved. .
On the other hand, the local living environment may change, such as various developments, a decrease in the natural environment such as green spaces and agricultural land, and a decrease in the safety of the district.
Therefore, residents around the new station (Kanagawa Ward / Hodogaya Ward) established the “Hazawa Station Area Community Development Council” to organize and examine the current issues and problems in the area and the issues expected with the establishment of the new station. We examined for development of "town development basic plan (district plan)".

※What is "town development basic plan"?…We summarize land use, position and scale such as roads and parks, maintenance methods in a plan, and make the goals and policies for future town development.
※Hazawa Station (tentative name) opened on November 30, 2019 as "Hazawa Yokohama National University Station" on the Sotetsu-JR direct line.

The "Sotetsu-JR Direct Line" provides a connecting line to the section from Nishiya Station on the Sotetsu Main Line to the vicinity of Yokohama-Hazawa Station on the JR Tokaido Freight Line, and performs direct operation between the Sotetsu Line and the JR Line.
Furthermore, once the "Sotetsu-Tokyu Direct Line" (between Hazawa and Shin-Yokohama and Hiyoshi) is developed, mutual direct operation to Toukyu Toyoko Line.
As a result, the western part of Yokohama City and the central part of Kanagawa Prefecture will be directly connected, and it is expected that the improvement of express delivery, improvement of Shinkansen access, and alleviate congestion on the JR Tokaido Line.
