Senkyo Forum
The Senkyo Forum is a participatory learning project conducted by the Election Commission of each ward and the Bright Election Promotion Council as part of election enlightenment activities.
Izumi Ward conducts “simulated elections” for 6th grade elementary school students who are future voters to experience voting and voting as an on-site class.
Each school has set themes that elementary school student is interested in, such as the menu to eat at the last school lunch in elementary school and the title of graduation album, and teachers and elementary school student who serve as candidates will also create election bulletins and give speeches to candidates.
This is a very popular class every year that allows you to learn about elections seriously while having fun by deciding on familiar themes by your own voting while using real election equipment.
First, members of the Izumi Ward Election Commission will use slides to explain election and voting methods.
I will give a passionate speech on what each candidate (teacher or elementary school student) recommends.
You will receive a ballot in exchange for a "voting guide".
Fill out the ballot on the entry stand while watching the "Name Post" just like the real thing.
Fold the ballot in half and post it to the ballot box!
Finally counts. First, sort the votes for each candidate and check for mixed votes.
Use a counting machine to count the number of votes twice so that there is no mistake. After this, the winner who will be elected will give you a word of joy.
