What is the Election Commission?

Elections are the foundation of democracy and are the most important forum for political participation in reflecting our will and opinions in politics.
During elections, the Election Commission ensures fair and proper execution from a politically neutral standpoint.
(Article 181, Article 252-2 of the Local Government Act)

The Election Administration Committee is set up in prefectures, municipalities, special wards in Tokyo, and ordinance-designated cities, and consists of four members elected by parliament.

About hearing

（１） Capacity 4 (If the capacity is exceeded, it will be a lottery.)
（２） Reception Please come to the meeting place 30 minutes to 10 minutes before the start of the meeting.
（３） Depending on the agenda to be discussed, it may be kept private.
