About highly pathogenic avian influenza
Avian influenza virus is not usually considered to be transmitted to humans except when it comes into contact with infected birds. In addition, there have been no reports of bird flu in humans from wild birds. You do not need to worry too much in your daily life, but in order to prevent infection from wild birds, be sure to pay the following in case.
- If you find a weakened or dead bird, don't touch it directly.
- If you touch it, wash your hands and gargle immediately.
In particular, please note that children may approach wild birds due to interest.
In addition, birds that have been bred at home or school as pets are not immediately dangerous. Pets are part of an important family. Please do not let go of your domestic bird easily and take care of it.
