Sports Promotion Committee

1. The Sports Promotion Committee is a part-time employee commissioned by the The Mayor of Yokohama based on the Basic Sports Law and the Yokohama City Sports Promotion Committee Rules, and plays an important role as a promoter of sports administration in Yokohama.
2. The Sports Promotion Committee plays a role in developing sports and recreation promotion projects rooted in the community while cooperating with the local community based on the base of activities.
3. In order to realize a lifelong sports society, the creation of a new lifelong sports promotion system is required for the community to take the initiative. Sports promotion committee members are also expected to play an active role in creating a system for their development and support.

1. We plan enlightenment activity to raise understanding and interest about sports recreation in area. (Execution of District Kenmin Festival, Sports Day, etc.)
2. We upbringing and perform organization to plan promotion of sports recreation activity of local everybody. (Collaboration with comprehensive community sports clubs and schools)
3. We participate in sports, recreation promotion business of city, ward, district and plan the promotion. (Cooperation for Yokohama Marathon, etc., and operation of marathon competitions in each ward, water swimming classes)
4. We will also cooperate in the business of various sports and recreation groups and other related organizations. (Collaboration with the ward sports association, etc.)
5. We will strive to develop and discover successor leaders.
6. We perform necessary instruction and assistance to plan the spread and promotion of sports recreation of local everybody.

1. Body
   Become a part-time special public servant based on the Sports Basic Law and the Yokohama City Sports Promotion Committee Rules.
2. Term of office
   2 years. However, this does not prevent re-election.
   ※The term of the sports promotion committee, which will be missing, will be the remaining term of the predecessor.
3. Age
   Reappointed persons must be under 70 years old as of the date of the reelection. New candidates must be under the age of 65 as of the date of the reelection. (Reelection date is as of April 1 of the year of the reelection year)
4. Remuneration
   No.
5. Election method
   In principle, we ask the self-government association Neighborhood Association to recommend one person, and the mayor commissions it.
