Sports promotion committee

1. The Sports Promotion Committee is a part-time employee commissioned by the The Mayor of Yokohama based on the Basic Act on Sports and the rules of the Yokohama City Sports Promotion Committee, and plays an important role as a promoter of sports administration in Yokohama City.
2. The Sports Promotion Committee plays a role in developing sports and recreation promotion projects rooted in the community in cooperation with the community at the base of activities in the community.
3. In order to realize a lifelong sports society, there is a need for the creation of a new lifelong sports promotion system led by the community. Sports promotion committee members are also expected to play an active role in creating the system for training and support.

1. We will conduct educational activities to raise the understanding and interest in sports and recreation in the community. (Employment of district health festival, athletic meet, etc.)
2. We foster and perform organization to plan promotion of sports, recreation activity of local everybody. (Collaboration for comprehensive regional sports clubs and opening schools)
3. We participate in sports recreation promotion business of city, ward, district and plan the promotion. (Management cooperation for the Yokohama Marathon, etc. and operation of marathon competitions and water swimming classes in each ward)
4. We will also collaborate on the business of various sports and recreation groups and other related organizations. (Collaboration in the business of the ward sports association, etc.)
5. We will foster and discover successor leaders.
6. We provide necessary guidance and words to plan the spread and promotion of sports and recreation of local residents.

   Become a part-time special public servant based on the Basic Law on Sports and the rules of the Yokohama City Sports Promotion Committee.
2. Term of office
   2 years. However, reappointment is not hindered.
   ※The term of the sports promotion committee, which is absent, is the remaining term of the predecessor.
3. Age
   Reappointed persons shall be under the age of 70 as of the date of reelection. New applicants are under 65 years of age as of the date of reelection. (The re-election date is as of April 1 of the re-election year)

5. Appointment method
   In principle, we request the Jichikai Neighborhood Association to recommend one person, and the mayor commissions it.
