About designated incurable disease medical expenses subsidy program
Last Updated January 24, 2019
I would like to know about the medical expenses system for designated incurable disease
Designated incurable disease medical expenses
Of the so-called incurable disease, 331 diseases (as of April 1, 2018) specified by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare are called "designated incurable disease."
Since the designated incurable disease is extremely difficult to treat, and the medical expenses is expensive, we subsidize some of the medical expenses for treatment to those who meet certain criteria. For more information, please visit the City of Yokohama, Health and Social Welfare Bureau website.

I want to take care of incurable disease patients temporarily
We have short-term admission services for patients with incurable disease. When caregiver is unable to care temporarily, they can enter a medical facility designated by the city within 7 days in principle. Food expenses will be borne by you.
In addition, there are other services such as dispatching home helper (home-care worker) to support the lives of those who are recuperating at home for incurable disease.
I want to know about the incurable disease Patients Association
In each patient's association, patients with the same symptoms or their families come together to hold consultations, lectures, and round-table conferences, and issuing newsletters. We will provide information on our contact information.
