Purpose
The purpose of this study was to examine and organize the basic ideas and directions for promoting the development of towns where residents can have an attachment to the history of the city and the local community while utilizing the historical assets remaining in the Hodogaya Ward.

Contents of examination and investigation
We examined and investigated the following matters for the old Tokaido area and the whole area in the ward.
(1) Direction of town development utilizing history
(2) Investigating and utilizing assets to be preserved and dotted historical assets
(3) Selection, policy, and maintenance method of priority maintenance areas
(4) Rules for landscape formation by utilizing the Landscape Act, etc.
(5) Creating a ward-based organization that promotes the basic concept
(6) Other necessary matters

The Exploratory Committee examined the general remarks such as directions, and examined the specific contents in the working of the "Old Tokaido Regional Design Examination Group" and the "Whole Area Current Status Survey Group in the City".
