Tips for COVID-19 infection countermeasures (senior health promotion)

The Kirari Senior School, which contributes to the prevention of long-term care and frail prevention, has been a part of the community-based comprehensive care system in Hodogaya Ward. However, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, its activities have been temporarily suspended. In ward office, we make document to have you refer for for resumption of activity.

◆Ten points that you should be aware of when you work.

Since the new coronavirus is likely to become more severe for elderly people and those with underlying diseases, it is important to take measures not to bring in or spread the virus.
In order to reduce the risk of infection, let's consider activities that incorporate a "new lifestyle" to reduce the risk of infection.

①Health check (measure your body temperature every day and rest if you have any symptoms)

Let's make rules for participation.

・Fever (over 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher. Or if you have cold symptoms such as cough or sore throat, do not participate in the activity and recuperate at home.

②Don't share things with others

Bring a handkerchief

・Do not share towels, slippers, etc. as personal belongings.

③Wearing a mask

Let's wear a mask even if you don't have any symptoms.

・Generally, it has been reported that a five-minute conversation will fly as much as a single cough.
・Masks are effective in preventing the spread of droplets.
・When exercising with a mask, the load on the body is likely to increase, so take measures such as lowering the load and taking a break.
・If you can get enough distance (more than 2m) outdoors, remove the mask.

④Hand washing

Let's wash your hands frequently.

・Wash your hands for about 30 seconds and wash carefully with water and soap.
・It is effective because it allows the virus to flow just running water. Hand washing with soap is even more effective because it can break the coronavirus film.
・It is said that dirt tends to remain on the fingertips of the hand, between fingers, wrists, wrinkles on the hand. Let's wash it especially carefully.
・When hand washing is not possible with running water and soap, alcohol for fingers is also effective.

⑤Avoid crowds

Let's keep a distance between people.

・Make sure that the distance between participants should reach out to each other and reach.
・Let's gather with less than half the capacity of the venue.
・Let's reduce the number of people per room by responding to two groups (separate the time and changing system).

⑥Avoid closeness

Avoid talking or speaking at a short distance.

・Close conversations and vocalizations tend to scatter splashes containing viruses.
・When you talk, don't stand in front of you.
・Use letters (paper), recordings, and microphones to reduce the chances of making a loud voice.

⑦Avoid sealing

Let's check the ventilation method.

・Open the two-way windows open once for a few minutes so that the wind can flow.
・Ventilation at least twice an hour.
・General household air conditioners simply circulates air and do not ventilate. Ventilation is required even during cooling.
・Ventilation tends to increase the indoor temperature, so make adjustments such as lowering the air conditioner temperature.
・If it is absolutely difficult to ventilate during the program, open windows and doors, use a fan to take in the outside air and ventilate.

⑧Avoid droplets

Let's avoid face-to-face conversations and meals.

・If face-to-face meetings or meetings are unavoidable, keep a sufficient distance and wear a mask.
・Make sure that the seats are seated side by side, and adjust them so that they can take a distance.

⑨Avoid contact

Let's disinfect the common part that you touch with your hands

・Virus that have adhered to the object will survive for a while. It is said that it has the ability to transmit about 24 hours to 72 hours depending on the type of object.
・Handrails, door knobs, tables, chairs, etc. that are touched by multiple people should be disinfected with chlorine bleach (0.05% sodium hypochlorite) or alcohol as appropriate.
・When providing meals, sweets (enclosed as much as possible) and drinks, carry them in a tray or tray, and do not hand them directly even if they wear gloves, such as having the participants take them.
・Dispose tableware, cups, chopsticks, etc. should be disposable or washed thoroughly with detergent.

⑩Don't take it home

After returning home, change your clothes and wash your hands and face.

①Let's rehydrate early and frequently.
②Avoid direct sunlight in cool clothes.
