It is different from evacuation sites in case of storm and flood damage. Here is evacuation sites in case of storm and flood damage.
Last Updated January 10, 2024
Evacuation means "evacuation" of "difficulty", and going to evacuation sites is not the only evacuation behavior.
Please consider evacuation sites in advance, such as "evacuation at home" when safety is possible at home or keeping safe relatives and friends' homes as evacuation destinations.
Hodogaya Ward Designated Evacuation Center (evacuation shelter)
If an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 5 or more occurs in Yokohama City, we will open a familiar municipal elementary and junior high school (27 locations in Hodogaya Ward) designated by Yokohama City in advance as evacuation shelter. evacuation shelter is a place where people who have difficulty living at home can live for a certain period of time, such as when their homes are burned down or collapsed due to the earthquake. In addition to its role as an evacuation center equipped with disaster prevention equipment and materials, it also serves as a base for receiving and transmitting information and collecting and distributing supplies for evacuees (including home evacuees).
Have regular discussions with your family and community, and check your own evacuation shelter and safe evacuation routes.

Precautions for Evacuation
1. First of all, please make sure you are safe for yourself.
2. Evacuate not only to designated elementary and junior high schools, but also to large and safe places such as nearby schools, parks and vacant lots.
3. If you cannot return to your home due to collapse of a house, evacuate to a designated elementary or junior high school (evacuation shelter (designated evacuation center)).
4. If there is a danger due to the spread of fire in the surrounding area, evacuate to evacuation area (see table below).
5. Stockpiling of water and food at evacuation shelter (designated evacuation centers) is limited because it is the minimum stockpile for those who cannot take out household stockpiled food due to collapse of their homes or fires. Therefore, prepare at least three days of stockpiling at each home, and bring stockpiling at home as much as possible during evacuation.

Points to note at evacuation centers in evacuation sites
If you are unable to ensure safety at home and evacuate to a evacuation sites evacuation center, please note the following:
1. Please bring your own minimum necessary items such as water, food and emergency listings.
In addition, please bring a mask, thermometer, alcohol disinfectant, etc. as a countermeasure against infectious diseases.
2. Evacuees must fill out the designated list of evacuees with required items when entering or leaving.
3. Please refrain from evacuation by car.
Evacuation by car is dangerous because it can lead to the occurrence of secondary disaster due to traffic congestion such as broken cars and hinder emergency vehicles and those who evacuate on foot.
