- This statistics investigate the use of ships, cargo and facilities that entered and exited between Yokohama Port and domestic and foreign ports in accordance with the Port Survey Regulations (Ministry of Transport Ordinance No. 13 of March 10, 1951) based on the Statistics Act. And the results are recorded.
- The survey area was within the harbor area, and ships and cargo that entered and exited this area were surveyed.
- Ships surveyed vessels with or without loading cargo with a gross tonnage of 5 tons or more.
- All cargoes entering and exited by ships and barges were subject to investigation.
- All cargo volumes are in tons, and in principle, flattons. In other words, the volume is 1.133m3 (40 cubic feet), the weight is 1 ton at 1,000kg, and the volume is calculated by the larger of the volume or weight. However, in practice, cargo that does not comply with the above principles is subject to customs.
- According to this statistics, foreign trade (foreign trade) refers to those shipped at Yokohama Port and transported to foreign countries as it is, and those shipped overseas and transported to Yokohama Port as it is, and transshiped at other ports in Japan. Cargo is domestic trade (domestic trade).
- Import/export partner port (country) depends on the last shipping port of the cargo or the first shipping port of that cargo.
- Classification is based on the classification table used for port statistics.
- “Chemicals such as dyes” in the table stands for “Dyes, paints, synthetic resins and other chemicals”.
- In the statistical table, "-" indicates less than the unit or no one. 「…"" indicates that it is difficult to compare the previous year due to the revision of the variety classification. In principle, 1,000 to 1,000 units were rounded off, and exceptions were made if necessary. Each numerical value may not match slightly due to rounding.
