The purpose of the Economic Census-Basic Survey is to clarify the basic structure such as the activity status of business establishments and companies in Japan nationwide and by region under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and to contribute to the development of business population databases. .

Points to note when comparing with the results of past economic census

The 2019 Economic Census-Basic Survey has a different survey method from past economic census in the following points, so please pay attention to these points when comparing time series.

This survey (A survey) is not a temporary point at the time of the survey, but is being conducted sequentially from June 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. In addition, using corporate numbers, we conduct surveys after adding offices that have been registered on the NTA corporate number publication site and were not captured in the previous survey to the survey list.
Existing establishments are surveyed by a method of confirming from the appearance, etc., so the survey items are three items: name, location, and activity status.
