Population of Foreigners after World War II

The number of foreign nationals by nationality based on the Alien Registration Act (the non-Japanese registration Ordinance in 1947) to 2001.
From 1947 to 1990, the back number of the "Yokohama City Statistical Report" has been converted to PDF of the monthly computer output report since 1993.

The transition table since the Alien Registration Act was enforced in 1952 (1952) (16 nationalities, only the total number of wards, as of the end of December or March every year).

Population of Prewar Foreigners

The population of foreign residents as of the end of December each year from Meiji 34 (1901) to Showa 13 (1938).
Based on the back number of the "Yokohama City Statistical Report", the names of countries and regions were converted from kanji notation to the current katakana notation.

(Reference) Population of Foreigners based on the census

The foreign population according to the census, which is the population as of October 1, each year, approximately every five years from 1920 (1920). Regardless of whether you are registered or not, we are investigating where you usually live, so the figures differ from the non-Japanese registration population.
