Excavation of buried cultural properties

Last update date February 1, 2021

1.Overview

The planned site for the new city hall is a land that was reclaimed from the late Edo period to the Meiji era.
After that, there was a record of modern buildings being built early on, so in March 2015, we conducted a trial excavation survey of buried cultural properties.
As a result, it was confirmed that the buried cultural property was located, so it was designated as a buried cultural property storage area.
At the buried cultural property site, it is necessary to conduct an excavation survey before construction work based on the Cultural Property Protection Law, and we are currently conducting surveys.
