Excavation of buried cultural properties
Last Updated February 1, 2021
1.Overview
The new city hall maintenance site is land that was reclaimed from the late Edo period to the Meiji era.
After that, there was a record of the construction of modern buildings from an early age, so in March 2015 we conducted an exploration survey of buried cultural properties.
As a result, it was confirmed that the buried cultural property was located, so it was designated as a buried cultural property storage area.
At the buried cultural property storage area, it is necessary to conduct an excavation survey before construction work based on the Cultural Property Protection Law, and we are currently conducting a survey.
2.Contents of the excavation survey
(a) Construction of excavation preparation, etc.
Prior to the excavation survey, approximately 13,500 square meters of the site where the new city hall is planned to be developed, such as pavement materials and structures on the surface.
Removal work, safety measures such as temporary enclosures and placement of traffic controllers, and construction work such as backfilling and leveling of disposal of rubble after excavation.
I'll do it.
(b) Excavation
Excavation of buried cultural properties will be conducted. The area around the buried cultural properties confirmed on the premises is gradually dug down, and the remains are revealed, surveyed, and photographed.
We will conduct scrutiny of true records, etc.
