Policy on International Policy

Yokohama International Strategy (revised in February 2021)

 The Yokohama City International Strategy organizes the basic concept of international business in Motoichi and develops it strategically, aiming to lead to the growth of Yokohama, generally until 2020 (Reiwa 2). Formulated in FY2015.
 Five years have passed since the formulation, and various changes have occurred in the world, such as climate change and infectious diseases, growing momentum toward achieving the SDGs, and the creation of new status of residence to expand the acceptance of foreign human resources in Japan. In addition, in Motoichi, "the regulations about promotion of Yokohama-shi international peace" were enacted in 2018.
 Based on these facts, the Yokohama City International Strategy has been revised to develop the city's international business more strategically, aim to realize a city that is chosen by people and companies around the world, and contribute to the peace and prosperity of the international community. Pillars of Priority Initiatives

(1) Promotion of intercity cooperation with a view to the future, such as fostering the next generation and creating business opportunities for companies (new citizens and business exchanges with overseas in the digital age)
(2) Hold international conferences, large-scale sporting events, and create international exchange opportunities through cultural arts.
(3) Promotion of Multicultural Symbiosis
(4) Attract foreign-affiliated companies from overseas, promote inbound tourists, and improve the environment for accepting foreign human resources.
(5) Support for overseas business development of local companies
(6) International cooperation and cooperation to solve global issues such as climate change, infectious disease countermeasures, and the promotion of women's empowerment.
(7) Contributing to international peace through international exchange, international cooperation, and multicultural coexistence.
