Yokohama City Seismic Retrofit Improvement Promotion Plan

　According to the Act on the Promotion of Seismic Retrofitting of Buildings, which was revised and enforced on January 26, 2006 (Seismic Retrofitting Promotion Law), it is mandatory for owners to ensure and improve the safety of buildings against earthquakes. It was positioned to formulate a plan to promote seismic retrofitting of buildings based on the basic policy of the country.
　In Yokohama City, based on Article 6 of the Act on Promotion of Seismic Retrofitting, taking into account the basic policy of the country stipulated in Article 4 of the Act and the Kanagawa Prefectural Seismic Retrofit Promotion Plan, the 10-year period up to 2015 in 2006. We devised "Yokohama-shi earthquake-resistant repair promotion plan" as the first plan period and operated from 2016 to 2021 as the second plan period.

　In order to promote the creation of a safe and secure city, the plan promotes the improvement of the safety of buildings built under the old seismic standards (seismic standards before May 31, 1981) against earthquakes, and collapses. The purpose is to protect citizens' lives and property from damage.

　Based on the end of the second plan period and the revision of the national basic policy, we will revise the fiscal year from FY2022 to 7 as the third plan period.
