Since 2005, large-scale establishments with excellent sorting and recycling efforts have been certified as "excellent sorting (three-star) establishments", but since 2011, 3R activities including small and medium-sized establishments We certify establishments or establishments that have excellent efforts to promote them as "3R activity excellent establishments".
Since fiscal 2022, no new certification has been made to review the system.

In order to promote the reduction and recycling of general waste discharged from business establishments in Yokohama City, establishments that have achieved remarkable achievements in the separation and discharge of business-related waste, suppression, reuse, recycling, etc. Or organizations composed of offices are certified as "excellent 3R activities" and widely introduced their efforts, so that businesses can actively engage in business-related waste separation and 3R activities. We will conduct a survey to understand the activities of establishments that wish to be certified.
