Kanazawa Ward is located at the southern tip of Yokohama City and is blessed with a rich sea and green environment including Marine Park, Nojimakoen and Kanazawa Nature Park.
Kanazawa has a long history dating back to the Heian period, but it flourished as a key point of transportation especially during the Kamakura period, and many historical and cultural assets and historic sites such as Shomeiji Temple and Kanazawabunko remain.
Kanazawa has been known as a scenic place since ancient times, as represented by Hiroshige Ando's "Kanazawa Hakkei", and since the Meiji era, many cultural people have visited it as a villa.
In the Kanazawa Ward area, land reclamation projects began in 1971, and housing, industrial housing complex, Kanazawa Seaside Line, and other areas were developed.
Recently, tourist bases such as Marine Park, Hakkeijima, and Yokohama Bayside Marina have also been added, making it a city that combines old and new charms.
Kanazawa fire department has established Higashitomioka, Rokuura, Tomioka, Kamariya, Sachiura and Nokendai fire departments within the ward, and has 37 fire trucks and about 200 staff members to protect the lives, bodies and property of residents from various disasters.
In addition, we started operation in new Government building on February 29, 2016.
