In May 2006, the Yokohama City security camera Information Management Review Committee, which consists of outside members, including lawyers and academic experts, examined the rules concerning the establishment and operation of security camera in consideration of the protection of personal information.
These guidelines summarize basic matters that business operators and others should consider to operate security camera, which is set up and operated for the purpose of preventing crime at facilities and locations used by an unspecified number of people, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law.

To protect privacy while recognizing the usefulness of security camera

What is security camera?
Cameras that are permanently installed in specific places and have image recording devices for the purpose of preventing crime (including cases where crime prevention is secondary) at facilities and places used by an unspecified number of people.
(B) Matters to be considered regarding management and operation
Designation of the person in charge of management, display of shooting area, installation, storage and handling of image data, prohibition of unintended use, provision of image data, etc. to the outside, handling complaints, formulation of operational standards, etc.
