Promotion of reading activities

Guideline

"The regulations about promotion of reading activity of Yokohama citizen" was enacted in June, 2013 and came into effect in April, 2014. With this, "Yokohama citizen book-reading activity promotion plan" was devised in March, 2014 to arrange environment to support citizen's reading activity widely from child to adult and to promote reading activity.
Based on this plan, in November 2014, Asahi Ward established the "Asahi Ward Reading Activity Promotion Goals" based on "knowing," "close," and "connecting," in order to promote reading activities.
For the five years until 2018, we will promote reading activities throughout the region in collaboration with various facilities and reading activity groups.

From June to December	Asahi Ward Scenery Photo Archive Exhibition Touring Exhibition (Each inhabitant of a ward) The Asahi Library held commemorative exhibitions and lectures during fiscal 2016, and also promoted the digitalization of photographs of Asahi Ward during the Showa era.
