Guidelines

"Ordinance about promotion of reading activity of Yokohama citizen" was established in June, 2013 and came into effect in April, 2014. With this, "Yokohama citizen book-reading activity promotion plan" was devised in March, 2014 to prepare environment to support citizen's book-reading activity widely from child to adult and to promote book-reading activity. .
Based on this plan, in November 2014, Asahi Ward established the "Asahi Ward Reading Activity Promotion Goals" based on "know," "friendly," and "connect" to promote reading activities in cooperation with ward offices, libraries and schools.
For the five years until 2018, we will promote reading activities throughout the region in collaboration with various facilities and reading activity groups.
