Last update date February 14, 2023
Preparation of pet owner
Only the owner can protect pets in the event of a disaster.
In order for the owner and pet to evacuate safely and spend time at the evacuation site without disturbing the people around you, it is important to be prepared on a daily basis.
- Let's prepare evacuation supplies for pets. We recommend rolling stock that you buy a little more and use it from old ones.
- Let's prevent the pet's cage and surrounding furniture from falling.
- Let's have a basic discipline.
- Always get used to carry bags and cages.
- Attach dog's license tag / Injected vote (for dogs), lost tag, microchip, etc.
- Let's carry out health management on a daily basis, such as rabies vaccination, vaccination of various vaccines, prevention of ticks and fleas.
- Let's secure a temporary storage place.
Specifically, please see page "about pet measures at the time of disaster" of Yokohama-shi animal protection center.
