About private road maintenance

Private road maintenance and subsidies
In Yokohama City, when many citizens pass and, about private roads used in the same way as actions, the city subsidizes a part of the construction cost when local people are maintained such as pavement construction. We perform two business of "private road maintenance subsidy system" and "private road maintenance system" that city performs pavement construction on behalf of local everybody.

| Conditions, etc. | （１） The private road used by the local community for daily life and the road connecting to the private road have already been paved. （２） There must be no underground buried object that interferes with pavement work, and the upper slope (so-called cliff) in contact with the private road is protected so that it does not interfere with pavement work. （３） In sewer treatment area, appropriate sewage pipe or combined pipe must be maintained. （４） For dead-end private roads, one end is connected to public roads and, in principle, used at the main entrance of five or more dwellings (apartment, such as apartments, are treated as one unit for each building). | Private roads that are used by many citizens and have the same functions as public roads and severely damaged pavements. （１） Private roads within a radius of approximately 500 meters from public facilities such as railway stations, ward offices, elementary and junior high schools, libraries, etc., or private roads newly designated as school roads with a width of 2.7 meters or more. |
