About road self-financing construction

When person except road manager performs construction or maintenance about road, it must receive approval of road manager (Road Law Article 24). The cost required for this construction is to be borne by the person who has been approved (Article 57 of the Road Law), so it is commonly referred to as "own expense construction".

After the construction is completed, the road manager will manage it, so you will have to maintain it at the same level as when the road manager works.
The main contents of the construction are as follows.
・Decrease and round-up of sidewalks
・Relocation or removal of street trees and tree-planting basins
・Relocation or removal of protective fences
・Relocation of curved mirrors and lighting
・Relocation of signs, etc. (those managed by the road manager)
・Construction and improvement of gutters
・Other road construction

After confirming the guide (PDF: 994KB) on the enforcement approval application for road construction, fill in required items, attach the following drawings, etc., and submit two copies. (Please download the form from the application form.)
If the application form is incomplete (missed or missing attached documents), the application will not be accepted.
It takes a certain number of days from receipt of the application form to approval, so please apply in time according to the construction schedule.

• Guide map (Please attach a copy that does not have any problems with copyright etc.)
• Floor plan (Please show the construction site and construction details so that the entire site can be understood.)
• Vertical cross section (Please create a drawing that shows the slope, height difference, etc. according to the construction content)

• Photos of the current situation (attach a distant view that shows the local situation)
