Every November is "Citizen's Reading Activity Promotion Month". I would like to introduce a book-related event held at each facility in Totsuka Ward in November.

Event public relations magazine "Hontoxzuna"
We have compiled a book-reading event held in Totsuka Ward during the Reading Activity Promotion Month.
There are plenty of events that both adults and children can enjoy, such as talks and stamp rallies.
Please go to a facility near you!

Reading Lecture "Michiko Aoyama's Story-Meeting with Books-"

Lectures will be held by writer Michiko Aoyama, who is known for "searching to the library" and "Recovery Kabahiko".

Tutor profile
Ms. Michiko Aoyama
Born in 1970, from Aichi Prefecture. Lives and works in Yokohama. After graduating from university, he worked as a reporter at a Japanese newspaper company in Sydney. After living in Australia for 2 years, he returned to Tokyo. After working as a magazine editor at a publisher, he started writing.
Received the 1st Miyazaki Hon Grand Prize for his debut work "Cocoa on Thursday". Received the 13th Tenryu Literature Prize for "The Cat's Telling Under Trees". 2nd place in the 2021/2022 Bookstore Grand Prize for "Looking to the Library" and "Red, Blue and Eskys". "In the forest where the moon stands" and "Recovery Kabahiko" have also been nominated for the Bookstore Grand Prize and have been nominated for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, "Search to the Library" was selected as the only Japanese writer's work in the "100 required readings of 2023" published by TIME magazine. Other books include "Kamakura Uzumaki Information Center", "I'm now God Duty", "Matcha Cafe on Monday", "My Present", "Always Thursday", and "Yua Present".

We introduce reading activity going in school in ward with handmade panel.
Handmade panels will be exhibited at the ward office, Seibu Higashitotsuka S.C., and Taisho District Center.
